I've heard about health surveillance. How does this differ from health screening?
Health surveillance is about systematically watching out for early signs of work-related ill health in employees exposed to certain health risks. We can advise you how to put procedures in place to achieve this.
Health screening is about health promotion and general lifestyle checks including weighing and measuring, and blood pressure checks. Health surveillance is about carrying out screening on employees whose work exposes them to known or potential health risks. Speak to an occupational health adviser on the Adviceline to find out more.
